in St Albans, Hertfordshire

Do you sometimes feel like it is too difficult to speak to anyone about your feelings, ones that you yourself are unable to pinpoint?
Could you benefit from being in a space where you will feel heard, and where you can talk about what is on your mind and what you are feeling with the knowledge that you will not be judged? Counselling can offer the opportunity to help explore and resolve problems that may seem overwhelming, in a safe and confidential environment. It allows one to share and work through any issue that is hindering in any way, be it emotionally or psychologically.

My name is Bonnie and I have been a practising Psychodynamic Counsellor in St Albans, and in and around Hertfordshire for the past twelve years. I am committed to providing counselling in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment.

I offer one to one counselling to individuals, adults and young people on a short or a long term basis. This means you can either engage in therapy for as long as you wish to, or you can choose to work within a solution focused allocated time frame. Short term therapy can be beneficial for those who wish to deal with specific issues such as a bereavement, divorce or a recent relationship issue or breakdown. Long term therapy is useful for those who may wish to work deeper, perhaps with issues they have been living with for most of their lives or due to not being able to understand what or why they feel hindered by emotions they find difficult to identify. It can also be useful for the purpose of emotional and self-development. Additionally I offer family mediation/therapy. Sometimes when issues that appear to be unresolvable, family members can benefit from having non-judgmental and unbiased support in order to reach resolution with therapeutic and empathic guidance.

Some of the areas I am experienced in helping clients who have difficulties with :

Stress
Relationships issues
Divorce

Although I currently do limited face to face sessions at my practice at Trestle Arts Base, most sessions are on-line via Zoom, WhatsApp or by telephone.
My practice is based in the iconic Trestle Arts Base in St Albans, set within an idyllic setting near Highfield Park, and has disabled access and facilities. There is ample free car parking and bus stops nearby, with St Albans station being a short bus ride away, and it has close access to the M25 and the A1M.
Clients attending this practice have comfortably travelled from St Albans, Hatfield, London Colney, Welwyn Garden City, Harpenden, Bricket Wood, Redbourne, Markyate, Hemel Hempstead, Borehamwood, Radlett, Watford, Barnet and London.

I also work for Safe Space, Counselling in Schools, Hertfordshire County Council, counselling children, adolescents/young people and adults within schools and colleges across Hertfordshire.
